Mohamed Ahnin’s artwork focuses on the architecture of Morocco’s stately cities and the remote villages of the Atlas mountains in southern Morocco, a geography nearly unparalleled as witnesses to over 1200 years of civilization, reflecting a rich culture and genius expressed by his ancestors through time and human history.
From time to time he works in the urban settings of his home city of Casablanca, documenting substance from my daily life in light, texture and palette, exploring spatio-temporal boundaries.
A Moroccan photographer interested in everything related to the history of Morocco and the history of mankind, Ahnin’s photographs are spontaneous, and influenced by the emotion generated by the moment/environment he inhabits through the lens. He sees his images as travel tickets in time and space, allowing viewers - to visit the same places in different eras and to meet characters who lived in his times.
